Six new University Technical Colleges have been given the go ahead, bringing the total to 50.
The government announcement marks a major expansion of the UTC initiative, offering vocational education for 14-18 year-olds designed to meet the needs of modern industry and business.
The new UTCs will be in Bolton, Peterborough, Scunthorpe, Westminster and Warrington. The UTCs will be backed by major employers and industrial partners including Network Rail, the National Space Centre and the James Dyson Foundation.
The 50 UTCs, plus the 46 studio schools open or in development, will provide more than 45,000 extra places for young people.
Eteach welcomes the expansion programme. We are already helping UTCs find great staff!
