The students from St. Wilfrid’s School in Crawley wanted to recognise teachers who have inspired their pupils and created the Teaching Hero. They want you – and your colleagues and students – to nominate your own Teaching Hero, say why you’ve chosen them and give them a superhero teaching name.
They developed a social media and radio campaign that includes an advert targeted at teachers and school staff. It finishes with the tag line ‘Saving the world – one class at a time’ – because that’s what teachers do.
We’ll be giving out prizes for teaching heroes and the people who nominate them during the campaign, with awards for the country’s most outstanding teachers in January. Why don’t you spread the word in your school? There’s a Teaching Hero pack to help, with Teaching Hero posters, coasters and chocolates.
